My client is a leading technology company at the forefront of innovation in the defence, aerospace, and transportation sectors. With a rich history of excellence and a commitment to cutting-edge solutions, they play a pivotal role in shaping the future of secure and sustainable technologies.

Following a recent increase in projects, they are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join their team based in Kiel, Germany. Some key information regarding the opportunity is as follows:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of environmental tests such as shock/vibration, climate, EMC, and IP for development projects.
  • Oversee the operations of the internal environmental laboratory.

Typically, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Serve as the main contact for internal projects to plan environmental tests effectively.
  • Act as the liaison with external service providers for environmental qualification needs.
  • Take charge of managing operations within the environmental laboratory.
  • Assist projects in interpreting standards and norms related to environmental requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of test specifications and procedures.
  • Prepare and oversee the testing phase, ensuring adherence to protocols.
  • Analyse test results, devise solutions, and provide feedback for ongoing development and enhancement.

Therefore, I'm ideally seeking candidates with the following skills and expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing/supervising EMC/environmental tests for devices and systems.
  • Proficiency in developing test specifications and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant standards and norms (MIL/AECTP/VG).
  • Familiarity with EMC/radiation safety/TEMPEST.
  • Experience in soldering and mechanical material processing is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and a systematic approach to tasks.
