Embedded Software & Test Engineer (Space Sector)
Location: Bremen, Germany (Relocation support available)

iO Associates are partnering with a highly successful, steadily growing aerospace technology firm that develops innovative hardware and software solutions specifically for high-profile international space applications – who are looking for an Embdedded Software and Test Engineer.
Their high-performance, dependable computer technologies are currently flying on some of the world’s most prominent space exploration programs including flagship lunar, Jupiter, and Earth observation missions.
Operating with a collaborative, international team in Bremen, they offer the chance to work on cutting-edge satellite technology where your engineering directly impacts the success of European space flight.
A completed degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a comparable technical field.
Practical, hands-on experience in embedded software development (experience within the aerospace or space industry is highly advantageous).
A high level of proficiency and practical experience with the C programming language.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Desirable (Nice-to-Have):
Experience with real-time embedded operating systems (RTOS) and real-time software development.
Familiarity with unit testing tools, embedded processor simulators, and scripting languages.
Knowledge of aerospace software development standards (specifically ECSS-E-ST-40C and ECSS-Q-ST-80C) or strict coding standards (e.g., MISRA C).
Testing & Integration: Handle functional validation, hardware-software integration testing, test script writing, and debugging.
Test Engineering: Take charge of functional test engineering, including drafting test specifications and managing requirements tracing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, FPGA, software, verification, and quality engineers to achieve project and mission goals.
Flight Software Development: (Depending on your skill set) Participate in requirements implementation, software component design, C coding, unit testing, and peer reviews.
