My client, a leading company in the development of electric aircraft is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join their team based in Munch.


This position will report to the EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interonnection System) Manager and will contribute, as part of an integrated cross functional team to the design, certification and delivery of the aircraft but also working on the project management, quality system, methods, standards and tools.

As an EWIS System Engineer you will deployed in the interdisciplinary Propulsion IPT (Integrated Project Team) responsible for supporting the EWIS project aspect of our full electrical Propulsion system along with several additional departments, from prototype into serial production. You will have a chance in shaping the future of mobility by not only defining the EWIS, but also developing components and co-ordination with regulatory partners/suppliers. You will take responsibility for the development of subsystems and components and ensure their compliance to certification and safety standards. Building upon your expertise you'll play a key role in bringing our innovative aircraft to life.

Your Day to Day will typically include:

  • Lead Propulsion project, design, coordination, planning and reporting within the IPT Propulsion and the EWIS team
  • Lead and develop certification, safety, V&V, tests and simulations for the propulsion system
  • Participate to ensure on time delivery of all tasks/projects undertaken.
  • Prepare and continuously improve processes, methods, standards, guidance´s and tools for the EWIS and Propulsion project
  • Supplier monitoring activities and coordination's of different stakeholders
  • Develop, challenge and continuously improve system's design and item's technical concepts
  • Define requirements for subsystems and components
  • Work on ad hoc related tasks or projects provided by management
  • Conduct the design and project to compliance of the system to the Type Certificate approval
  • Support team members in their tasks and coordinate activities with others systems
  • Lead and produce the design data and drawings (3D routing & 2D wiring diagram, component selection, BOM, …)

Therefore, I am ideally seeking candidates that can demonstrate the following skills and expertise:

  • Good Knowledge of DOA Part 21J environment
  • Experience on EWIS design, safety, V&V and certification based on CS25 subpart H approach is mandatory
  • Experience on Electrical Systems, Avionics Systems, Grounding and Bonding, or similar domain is necessary as well as technical, project coordination or quality experience
  • Knowledge on System Engineering development ARP4754, guidances as AC 25.1701-1, AMC 20-23, CS-25 subpart H and Electrical Standards as AC43.13-1B
  • Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), and DO160 awareness highly appreciated
  • Basic knowledge of PDM/PLM
  • EWIS design CAD software's knowledge for 3D routing and wiring diagram is needed (e.g. CATIA, NX & Zuken, Capital or similars)
  • Experience of working with various suppliers and managing deliverables is required
  • Strong motivation to help build structures, standards, methods and processes
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem solving skills required
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment is required
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
