Aerospace Hardware / PCB Designer
iO Associates are currently partnered with a company in the aerospace sector and are preparing for upcoming Arbeitnehmerüberlassung (ANÜ) assignments that will require experienced Aerospace Hardware / PCB Designers. These opportunities are expected to begin in the coming months, and we are building our talent pipeline ahead of confirmed project releases.
You will be employed directly by iO Associates under an AÜG‑compliant ANÜ contract, working on assignment with our aerospace partner. This provides the stability of permanent employment with the project variety of consultancy work.
The Role
You will be involved in the full hardware development life cycle, focusing on the design, development and certification of complex, multi layer electronic boards used in cutting‑edge aerospace embedded systems. Responsibilities will include:
- Designing multi layer PCBs for high‑reliability aerospace applications
- Developing analogue, digital and power electronics architectures
- Working within DO‑254 compliant hardware processes
- Designing with EMI/EMC considerations and environmental constraints in mind
- Integrating aerospace communication buses such as ARINC, CAN, AFDX, etc.
- Producing high‑quality documentation suitable for certification
- Collaborating closely with systems, FPGA/HDL, software, and test teams
- Supporting environmental and qualification activities (e.g., DO‑160)
Required Experience
- Proven experience in aerospace board design or other high‑integrity hardware industries
- Strong capability in multi-layer PCB design (mixed‑signal, high‑speed, power)
- Solid background in analogue and power electronics
- Hands‑on experience with DO‑254 development life cycle
- Familiarity with embedded digital systems
- Strong understanding of EMI/EMC‑aware design
- Experience designing for harsh or extreme operating environments
- Strong documentation and cross‑functional communication skills
- Exposure to FPGA/HDL design is desirable
- Experience with DO‑160 qualification is desirable
- Experience with ruggedised or mission‑critical electronics is desirable
These roles are part of a pipeline for upcoming aerospace programmes. By expressing early interest, you’ll be among the first considered when new positions open. If you would like to be kept informed as these roles progress, please apply with your most up-to-date CV.
