AI & Data Governance Lead
Location: Bristol / Hybrid (2-3 days on-site)
Security Clearance: Must have active SC clearance (DV Preferred)
Day Rate: £600 – £700 / day (Inside IR35)
We are looking on behalf of our client, a leading defence consultancy, for an AI & Data Governance Lead to establish and oversee robust framework models for AI deployments across mission-critical defence and security programs. You will bridge the gap between military end-users, data engineers, and regulatory standards to ensure compliant, ethical, and secure AI systems.
Framework Development: Build and enforce AI governance and data quality frameworks tailored to defence standards and military applications.
Risk & Compliance: Identify, assess, and manage operational and ethical risks associated with machine learning models and automated decision-making.
Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee classification, lineage, and access controls for sensitive datasets across multi-domain environments.
Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex technical AI risks into clear strategic advice for senior defence clients and leaders.
Proven background in data governance, risk management, or AI ethics within defence, aerospace, or government sectors.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) and ISO 42001 (Artificial Intelligence Management System).
Hands-on understanding of data management principles, MLOps lifecycles, and model auditing.
Must have active UK SC clearance (or active DV clearance).
