The Role

iO Associates are partnering with a defence consultancy to hire a hands-on AI and Data Privacy Consultant.

Note: We need a dedicated subject matter expert in AI governance and data privacy. You must have direct, practical experience writing assessments, designing governance policies, and advising on technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Algorithmic Impact Assessments for ML pipelines, LLMs, and high-assurance data platforms.

• Implement AI governance frameworks aligned with ISO/IEC 42001 and defence assurance standards.

• Provide technical privacy advisory on data minimization, synthetic data, differential privacy, and model inversion risks.

• Map AI systems against UK GDPR, DPA 2018, and defence AI policies.

• Assess third-party AI models, tools, and datasets for privacy and regulatory compliance.

What You Need

• Proven Consulting Background: Direct experience working as an AI Governance Consultant or Data Privacy Consultant (hands-on advisory and compliance, not project management).

• SC Clearance: Active UK SC clearance is essential.

• Standards & Regulations: Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, DPA 2018, and ISO 42001 within defence or public sector settings.

• Certifications (Desirable): AIGP, ISO 42001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CIPP/E, CIPM, or CDPSE.
