Role Overview

We’re partnering with a specialist defence consultancy to bring in an experienced AI Assurance Consultant. You’ll be working directly with defence clients to evaluate, test, and validate mission-critical artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, making sure they meet stringent safety, ethical, and regulatory standards before deployment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Model Validation & Testing: Design and execute validation frameworks to test the reliability, robustness, and security of machine learning models and AI-driven defence capabilities.
• Risk & Compliance: Assess AI systems against Ministry of Defence (MOD) ethical principles, governance frameworks, and high-stakes operational compliance requirements.
• Independent Oversight: Provide trusted, objective advice on algorithmic bias, data integrity, and failure modes in complex, secure environments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with technical teams, defence officials, and senior leadership to translate complex AI risks into clear, actionable insights.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in AI assurance, validation, auditing, or safety-critical systems engineering.
• Strong background working within the UK defence, national security, or highly regulated safety-critical sectors.
• Solid understanding of algorithmic risk, model evaluation, and governance frameworks.
• Active UK Security Clearance (SC) Minimum.
