AI Engineer (Agentic AI & Data Migration Automation)

Our client is a specialist technology consultancy focused on helping organisations modernise their data and technology landscapes through innovative engineering and AI-led solutions. 

As part of a major enterprise data transformation programme, they are seeking two experienced AI Engineers to help accelerate the migration of legacy platforms into a modern data environment using Agentic AI. This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield capability, working with cutting-edge AI tools to build scalable automation, establish best practices, and deliver measurable improvements in migration speed, quality, and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and orchestrate Agentic AI solutions using Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, LangGraph, or similar technologies. 
• Translate migration processes into automated, agent-executable workflows with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Automate data validation, reconciliation, testing, and documentation activities.
• Implement guardrails, observability, logging, tracing, and governance controls for AI solutions. 
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to drive measurable migration acceleration and cost reduction. 

Skills & Experience

• Recent hands-on experience building Agentic AI applications, agents, or automation solutions using tools such as Claude Code, Claude Agent SDK, Copilot, Cursor, LangGraph, or similar frameworks. 
• Strong Data Engineering and Data Migration background, including SQL, data profiling, mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation. 
• Experience delivering legacy-to-modern data migration projects. Exposure to legacy platforms is highly beneficial. 
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Python, version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, knowledge grounding, and AI workflow orchestration. 
• Experience implementing monitoring, tracing, logging, and observability for AI systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, client-facing environment. 

Desirable

• Snowflake, SanLake, dbt, Qlik, Sybase, or Datahub experience. 
• Experience with M365 Copilot Agents or Claude Premium Coworker. 
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, AI Governance, or Information Governance controls. 
• Experience within regulated environments such as financial services or insurance.
