AIT & Electronics Technician

Reading (UK), 4 days onsite, Thursday – WFH

£60,000 – £65,000 + Equity + Performance Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a growing engineering and technology organisation developing something that currently does not function in the satellite world! They offer a collaborative environment focused on innovation, quality, and technical excellence with engineers from across the globe.

About Role:

We are seeking an AIT & Electronics Technician to support the assembly, integration, and testing of flight-quality electronics, harnesses, and propulsion hardware within a fast-paced, safety-critical engineering environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assemble, rework and inspect electronic boards to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards
  • Build and terminate wiring harnesses and cable assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Crimp, solder and install connectors, backshells and protective measures
  • Build and maintain electrical and mechanical test setups
  • Support AIT and environmental testing, including thermal vacuum and vibration

What You’ll Bring:

  • Hands-on experience assembling and reworking electronic boards and harnesses
  • IPC-A-610 Class 3 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting AIT, integration and test activities
  • Experience working in ESD-controlled environments

Nice to Have:

  • J-STD-001 certification
  • Space, aerospace, defence, automotive or other high-reliability industry experience
  • Cleanroom or ISO-classified environment experience
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards
  • High-voltage or power electronics experience
  • Basic CAD literacy and propulsion systems experience
