Associate Director Mechanical Engineer
Location : Manchester, UK
Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) | Permanent
Salary : £70,000 – £83,000 + Car Allowance

Our client, a leading global engineering consultancy, is looking for an Associate Director Mechanical Engineer to lead the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in the Water sector, leading multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex mechanical solutions involving pumps, blowers, screens, and dosing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary Mechanical Engineering teams on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with UK standards and project requirements.
  • Review and approve technical deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, budget control, and programme milestones.

Key Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng)
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience delivering water infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards, CDM, and DSEAR
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
