Role Summary
Our Client is seeking a talented Data Engineer to support a critical six-month project. This role is integral to their strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing data processing and analytics. As a Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by developing robust data pipelines and workflows. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Python.
  • Implement ETL processes and integrate data from various sources into a cohesive structure.
  • Utilise DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and create clear documentation.
  • Manage data workflows using Apache Airflow to ensure seamless data processing.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and best practice discussions to enhance team development.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, particularly in data manipulation and processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and its related components.
  • Familiarity with DBT for data transformation tasks.
  • Experience with workflow management tools, specifically Apache Airflow.
  • Solid understanding of data models, database design, and data warehousing concepts.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of cloud data solutions, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with modern data architecture and best practices.
  • Experience in working within Agile development frameworks.
  • Additional programming languages or tools related to data engineering would be a plus.
