Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Genie Consultant to help design and implement conversational analytics solutions within our Databricks environment. The contractor will work with business and technical teams to enable self-service analytics through natural-language querying and well-governed data models.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimise Databricks Genie spaces and experiences.
• Translate business requirements into Genie-ready semantic models.
• Develop and optimise Databricks SQL queries and analytics assets.
• Improve metadata, documentation, and governance within Unity Catalog.
• Validate Genie response accuracy and performance.
• Partner with stakeholders to drive adoption and best practices.
• Deliver documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience implementing Databricks Genie.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks SQL, Lakehouse architecture, and Unity Catalog.
• Experience with semantic modeling, analytics, and self-service BI.
• Strong SQL and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently in a consulting or contractor capacity.

Preferred

• Experience with GenAI-powered analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with Python, PySpark, and modern data platforms.
• Experience integrating with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
