Data Team Lead – Data Analysis & Insight

We’re seeking a skilled Data Team Lead to drive analytical excellence and deliver actionable insights that shape evidence-based decision-making across our organisation. This is an opportunity to guide data strategy while mentoring analysts and collaborating with stakeholders to bring complex information to life.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality analysis, dashboards, and insight products that empower strategic decisions.

  • Apply robust statistical, quantitative, and qualitative techniques to ensure analytical integrity.

  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, meaningful outputs with strong narrative and value.

Project & Workload Management

  • Plan and manage data projects within an agile delivery framework, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.

  • Lead sprint planning sessions and coordinate workloads across the team.

  • Identify risks and dependencies early, implementing effective mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain alignment between project outputs and wider organisational objectives, including the CRMP, Service Plan, and digital and data roadmap.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant field (Essential).

  • Commitment to continuous professional development (Essential).

  • Proven experience in a data analysis or data management role (Essential).

  • Strong experience with Power BI (Essential).

  • Proficiency with analytical tools and languages such as SQL, Python, or R (Desirable).

  • Knowledge of data warehousing technologies, particularly Azure (Desirable).

  • Familiarity with the fire sector, emergency services, or broader public sector environments (Desirable).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Collaborative approach to stakeholder management.

  • Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and data quality principles.
