Battery Pack Design Engineer
6‑month contract (Initially)
£45-50/hr | Outside IR35
Hybrid/Bristol (2-3 days per week on-site)

We’re looking for a Battery Pack Design Engineer to support a fast‑moving EV programme with a Bristol‑based client. This isn’t a “CAD-only” position – they need someone who can own a solution end‑to‑end, not just model components.

You’ll take responsibility for a full battery pack work package, from requirements capture through to delivery, coordinating closely with cross‑functional teams and managing risk, timing, and interfaces throughout.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading delivery of mechanical battery pack work packages
• Working with stakeholders to gather, interpret, and break down requirements before moving into design
• Defining and coordinating activities with CAE, electrical, thermal, and other interfacing teams
• Identifying and communicating technical or timing risks early
• Producing high‑quality CAD models and drawings with correct tolerancing and GD&T

Key Skills

• Strong experience in battery pack design
• Proficiency in CATIA (3DX / 3D Experience is a bonus)
• Solid understanding of tolerancing and GD&T
• Comfortable acting as a solution owner, not just a CAD operator
