Hybrid/Bristol

£50-52 per hour (OUTSIDE IR35)

An EVTOL company in Bristol is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of high-performance, safety-critical lithium-ion battery systems for electric aviation.

What they’re looking for

• Strong technical expertise in lithium-ion batteries, ideally from automotive, aerospace or another technically complex industry.
• Excellent systems engineering knowledge and experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to own engineering work packages, proactively manage interfaces and drive technical delivery.
• Strong experience with CATIA and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Technical leadership experience; people leadership would be advantageous.
• Expertise in one or more of the following:
• Composite design
• Liquid cooling system design
• Injection moulding
• Thermal runaway / battery fire protection

We are looking for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach, and who can work effectively across a fast-paced, multidisciplinary aerospace environment.
