Job Title: DevSecOps / Software Engineer (Erlang/Elixir + General Software)
Location: Hybrid – Cheltenham, Manchester, or London
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000+ per annum (DOE)
Clearance: Candidates holding or eligible for SC, MOD DV, or UKIC DV clearance

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive DevSecOps / Software Engineer to work on an exciting project. This role combines hands-on Erlang/Elixir development with broader software engineering support for high-throughput, decentralized applications.

Phase 1: Assist in designing and building a clean, simple website.
Phase 2: Contribute to the design and implementation of a decentralized exchange

Candidates should have general software knowledge across languages such as Java, Kotlin, scripting languages, and be comfortable supporting DevSecOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and security practices.

The client would also consider exceptional candidates eligible for clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Erlang/Elixir and other applications.
  • Integrate security practices into DevOps workflows.
  • Support cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Assist in software development for high-throughput, decentralized applications.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Monitor, analyse, and optimise system performance and security compliance.

Required Skills

  • DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, automation).
  • Hands-on experience with Erlang and Elixir.
  • General software development experience (Java, Kotlin, scripting languages).
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Security monitoring and vulnerability management.
  • Scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Knowledge of distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience in crypto, blockchain, or decentralized applications.
