D365 Field Service Consultant (Hands-On)

Permanent up to £67,000 | Contract up to £500 per day (Outside IR35)

D365 Field Service Consultant is required for a UK-based housing and property services organisation delivering large-scale digital transformation across its operational and field engineering functions. The organisation is bringing more capability in-house and investing heavily in its Microsoft ecosystem to improve service delivery, scheduling efficiency, and customer outcomes.

Important: This is not an Architect role. They are specifically looking for a hands-on consultant/developer who is comfortable working at configuration and functional level – someone practical, delivery-focused, and happy to get into the detail.

The Role

You will play a key role in enhancing and optimising Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service across operational teams. The environment is already live, and the focus is on continuous improvement, configuration, customisation, and hands-on delivery.

You will:

• Configure and customise D365 Field Service
• Support enhancements across work orders, scheduling, and asset management
• Work closely with operational stakeholders to gather and translate requirements.
• Support integrations within the wider Microsoft stack.
• Troubleshoot, optimise, and improve existing workflows.
• Contribute to ongoing system improvements and best practice adoption.

This role suits someone who enjoys being in the detail, solving real operational challenges, and delivering tangible improvements rather than sitting at pure architecture level.

Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service.
• Proven experience in configuration and functional customisation.
• Experience supporting live environments and continuous improvement programmes.
• Understanding of Field Service processes (work orders, scheduling, resource optimisation)
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, delivery-focused environment
