Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Architect with active UK eDV (UK*C) clearance to support secure work in Gloucestershire. You’ll work closely with the client and internal technology teams, helping to develop and evolve hosting platforms that serve data centre environments.

You will act as a key link between customers and engineering/product teams, ensuring the platform addresses real-world data centre challenges and meets industry standards-shaping design decisions, features and functionality across data centre management.

Main duties & responsibilities:

• Partner with product and engineering teams to define, design, and enhance platform features tailored to data centre customers
• Gather and analyse customer requirements, feedback, and pain points to inform platform roadmap and capabilities
• Apply deep data centre architecture knowledge to guide features such as resource management, monitoring, optimisation, and security
• Serve as liaison between technical teams and customers, translating needs and concepts clearly
• Contribute to architectural design for modules supporting data centre operations, including:
• Power and cooling efficiency
• Space utilisation
• Network port density
• Scalability
• Stay current on modern data centre technologies to ensure solutions remain innovative and aligned to industry standards
• Support API and integration strategies to connect with existing customer systems and tools
• Work with QA to validate features against quality standards and real-world performance expectations
• Produce technical documentation, user guides and training materials as required
• Take on additional responsibilities in response to business needs

Essential:

• Active UK eDV (UK*C) clearance
• Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, power and cooling
• Experience with data centre management tools/technologies
• Familiarity with AI/ML use cases in data centre optimisation
• Proven experience collaborating with product development teams to deliver customer-aligned solutions
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative approach in cross-functional environments
• Proactive mindset with focus on innovation and continuous improvement
• Strong organisation and project management skills
• Knowledge and evidence of relevant standards/certifications such as:
• CCNA Data Centre / CCNP Data Centre
• VMware VCP-DCV
• CDMP
• Willingness to travel as required (business travel is covered)

Desirable:

• Knowledge of APIs, middleware and integration methods for data centre systems
• Customer-facing experience (e.g., technical consulting, solution architecture)
• Exposure to sustainable / green data centre practices
