Electrical Systems Manager
iO Associates is proud to be partnered with a pioneering French aircraft manufacturer that is designing and manufacturing next-generation aircraft.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead engineering efforts on completely new aircraft project.
Role Overview: Within the engineering department, you will lead all activities related to the design, development, and integration of electrical systems. You will play a pivotal role in structuring the department across functionality, installation, and industrialization, ensuring the seamless execution of both small-scale electric propulsion and complex regional aircraft programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy: Structure and develop the Electrical department, overseeing functional design, installation, and industrialization methods.
Technical Management: Direct design and development activities across power distribution, data distribution, cabling, electrical equipment, and Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
Architecture Definition: Oversee the definition of advanced electrical architectures, balancing performance, safety, weight, and aerospace certification requirements.
Program Execution: Technically manage EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) development activities specifically for the regional aircraft program.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with System and Structure teams to achieve optimal integration of complex electrical systems.
Compliance & Certification: Ensure full conformity of EWIS systems to international aeronautical standards and lead coordination with regulatory authorities during certification processes.
Process Optimization: Implement robust design methodologies and processes specific to the functional and electrical installation trades, while reporting regularly on department progress.
Desired Profile:
Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related aerospace discipline.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in a similar aerospace engineering leadership role, with a strong background across the entire life cycle of EWIS systems.
Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of electrical systems engineering (including functional analyses, safety analyses, and Verification & Validation/V&V), configuration management, and aerospace manufacturing/certification methods.
Tool Proficiency: Strong familiarity with industry-standard functional electrical design and installation software tools.
Soft Skills: Proven engineering management and interpersonal skills, a proactive and rigorous approach to problem-solving, and the ability to articulate and defend complex technical choices in a multidisciplinary environment.
Pluses: Previous experience working within regional commercial aviation programs is highly appreciated.
