Electronic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Due to strategic growth initiatives, our Client is seeking a talented Electronic Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in innovative projects that push the boundaries of electronic communication technology and provide a tangible impact on critical industries such as aerospace.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise electronic circuits and PCB layouts for high-speed electro-optical transceivers with data rates starting from 25 Gbit/s.
- Conduct signal integrity analyses and simulations of high-frequency and mixed-signal circuits using industry-standard tools.
- Evaluate and verify product prototypes, tracking improvements and ensuring high performance standards.
- Provide technical support during product transfer to mass production and assist in product qualification processes.
- Create high-speed testing boards for measurement and customer testing environments.
- Select appropriate components, liaising closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and specifications for internal and external use.
Essential Skills & Experience
- A degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in electrical engineering or a similar field.
- Several years’ hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, with a focus on optical communications or high-speed electronics.
- Strong expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, with a solid understanding of high-speed PCB layout techniques.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as HFSS, SiWave, PSpice, or ADS.
- At least three years’ practical experience with circuit and PCB design, preferably using Cadence Allegro.
- Ability to work effectively within team environments, demonstrating analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English & German skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of aerospace standards, including radiation effects, thermal management, and design for reliability.
- Experience with programming languages such as LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with RF simulation tools and validation techniques.
- Experience in lab measurement, product testing, and detailed technical documentation.
