Electronic Engineer
iO Associates are currently partnered with a company who are looking for an innovative Electronic Engineer to join their growing technical team. This position focuses on the design, development, and testing of electronic systems that support advanced payload technologies and next‑generation space systems. You’ll be working across avionics, payload interfaces, and mission‑critical electronic hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits for avionics and payload‑related subsystems.
- Produce PCB layouts, schematics, and supporting technical documentation.
- Select high‑reliability components suitable for challenging operational environments.
- Support integration, verification, and validation of electronic hardware.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineers on cross‑functional hardware development.
- Conduct troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis during prototyping and testing phases.
- Contribute to design reviews, documentation updates, and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in developing test procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
- Strong background in electronic circuit design and PCB layout.
- Experience with industry‑standard design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, OrCAD).
- Solid understanding of mixed‑signal design, power electronics, and embedded hardware.
- Competence using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
- Experience working on electronics for space, aerospace, defence, or other high‑reliability sectors.
- Familiarity with radiation‑tolerant design principles.
- Knowledge of standards such as ECSS or IPC.
- Experience with FPGA or microcontroller‑based systems.
- Understanding of EMC/EMI considerations in complex electronic assemblies.
