Engineer/NMS Software Development

Our client is a specialist satellite communications business that designs, builds and supports ground segment solutions used to move data securely and reliably over satellite networks. Their work typically spans satellite hubs and teleport infrastructure, fixed and deployable terminals/antennas, and the network management/monitoring software that controls, configures and optimises SATCOM links in real-world operations.

Your responsibilities:

• Working as part of an agile, interdisciplinary development team for hardware, embedded software and application software 
• Further development and maintenance of the SKYWAN modem web interface
• Design, development and maintenance of new features within the existing SKYWAN network management system
• Front-end development using JavaScript and React
• Back-end development using the Java SDK within the context of a Cisco NSO application
• Support with the maintenance and further development of the build system (Gradle, Jenkins, Git)

Your profile:

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Applied Computer Science or comparable qualification
• Several years’ experience in developing web applications using JavaScript
• Experience in object-oriented software development using Java
• Proficiency in using Linux as a target and development platform
• Knowledge of XML, XSLT and Python is desirable
• Willingness to learn Cisco NSO
• Knowledge of IP and network management protocols is an advantage (NETCONF, SNMP)
• Team-oriented approach to work
• Very good English and a good German skills
