ERP Integration Architect (Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise Integrations) – Contract – Outside

Location: Remote (Europe)

Contract: Full-time (40 hours per week) – Outside IR35 – Fully Remote

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced ERP Integration Architect to join a global engineering team delivering enterprise integration solutions for large-scale customers.

Whilst the title is ERP Integration Architect, this is a highly hands-on engineering role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys designing and building integrations, developing APIs and solving complex technical challenges rather than producing high-level architecture alone.

You’ll be responsible for integrating ServiceNow, ERP platforms and other enterprise applications using a combination of integration technologies and bespoke software development.

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable using enterprise integration platforms and writing custom integration code when required.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow, ERP systems and other enterprise applications.
• Develop custom integration components where off-the-shelf tooling isn’t sufficient.
• Build and maintain REST and SOAP APIs.
• Work with XML, JSON and enterprise messaging standards.
• Integrate cloud platforms with legacy Windows and Linux applications.
• Troubleshoot complex integration, application and compatibility issues.
• Develop reusable software components and integration services.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams and customers to deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to AI-driven integration and automation initiatives where appropriate.
• Produce clear technical documentation and follow software engineering best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong commercial software development experience in one or more of:
  • C#
  • .NET
  • Java
  • C++
  • Python

   

• Proven experience designing and developing enterprise integrations.
• Strong API development experience (REST, SOAP).
• Experience working with XML and JSON.
• Experience integrating ERP or other enterprise business systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience working across Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and distributed systems.

Desirable Skills:

• ServiceNow integration or development experience.
• SAP integration experience.
• Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, webMethods or similar middleware.
• Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP.
• AI, machine learning or intelligent automation technologies.
• Docker, Kubernetes and containerised applications.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

We’re looking for an engineer who can confidently switch between using enterprise integration platforms and developing bespoke integration software when required.

You’ll have a strong software engineering mindset, enjoy solving complex integration challenges and be comfortable working across modern cloud technologies, ERP systems and legacy enterprise applications.
