Senior Fire Protection Systems Engineer – New Aircraft Program (Feuille Blanche)
iO Associates is currently partnered with a leading aerospace innovator seeking a Senior Fire Protection Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, integration, and certification of fire safety systems for a groundbreaking new aviation program.
This is a rare, “clean-sheet” opportunity to shape the safety architecture of a completely new aircraft from scratch. You will not be maintaining legacy systems; you will be defining the future of flight by developing advanced fire detection and suppression solutions for a modern airframe.
As a key member of a dynamic team, you will lead the development of Fire Protection Systems (FPS), from initial architecture to final certification – ensuring the highest levels of safety, reliability, and system efficiency.
7+ years in aerospace engineering with a deep focus on Fire Protection Systems, including detection, suppression, and alarm integration within high-stakes environments.
Intermediate skills (B1 level or above) in French, and B2 level or above in English.
Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, specifically EASA/FAA CS-25 / FAR Part 25.
Demonstrable expertise in designing high-reliability suppression systems, such as fuel tank inerting systems, alongside advanced detection loops.
Demonstrated leadership in managing technical projects, leading design reviews (PDR/CDR), and mentoring junior engineers within a cross-functional environment.
Lead the architecture and detailed design of Fire Detection and Suppression subsystems, utilising advanced simulation to optimise for weight, power extraction, and rapid response times.
Oversee the seamless integration of fire protection components into the aircraft platform, managing complex interface controls with propulsion, fuel systems, and avionics.
Conduct detailed risk assessments and develop fire safety strategies aligned with project specifications and performance under extreme flight envelopes.
Define and execute rigorous test plans, including ground and flight tests, to verify system reliability, discharge rates, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all designs meet or exceed stringent aerospace safety standards, including DO-160 and ARP4754, while leading technical contributions during critical design phases.
Serve as the technical authority for fire safety systems, acting as the key point of contact for stakeholders and ensuring all documentation meets regulatory authority standards.
If you are passionate about safety-critical systems and cutting-edge aerospace innovation, please apply with your updated CV as the hiring manager is looking to arrange interviews immediately.
