  • IR35: Outside
  • Rate: £55-£65 per hour
  • Location: South West England (hybrid, 2 days a week in the office)

About the role

We’re a growing manufacturer of advanced uncrewed aircraft systems. You’ll own the design of safety-critical flight electronics, from schematic and PCB layout through to prototype bring-up and environmental testing.

What you’ll do

  • Design multi-layer PCBs in Altium Designer for flight computers, power distribution and sensor interfaces
  • Implement communication buses including CAN/CAN FD, RS422/485, Ethernet, SPI and I2C
  • Design efficient, lightweight DC-DC converters and power circuitry
  • Design for harsh environments and meet standards such as DO-160G and MIL-STD-810

What you’ll need

  • Advanced Altium Designer skills, including high-speed layout and controlled impedance
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (e.g. STM32); FPGA experience is a bonus
  • Hands-on lab skills: diagnostics, soldering, harness integration and test automation (Python/LabVIEW)

Urgent role, interviewing next week. If this matches your skills and experience, send over your CV and I’ll be in touch by phone.
