Information Security Consultant (Embedded)

Location: Fully Remote (UK) with occasional travel to client sites nationwide

Salary: £50,000

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Information Security Consultant (Embedded) to join a security team supporting a major defence client.

You’ll act as an extension of the client’s Information Security function, providing day-to-day security support, assurance activities, risk management and Secure by Design guidance, while also supporting wider Risk & Compliance engagements.

Must-Have

• Active SC Clearance. Candidates must hold active SC Clearance.
• Information Security Experience – Minimum 3 years’ experience in Information Security or IT Security.
• Experience in security assurance, governance or risk management.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Support client Information Security teams with day-to-day security activities.
• Triage and respond to security queries.
• Support Secure by Design and security assurance activities.
• Assess and manage information security risks.
• Review security controls, policies and evidence.
• Provide security advice to technical and business stakeholders.
• Support wider compliance, risk and assurance engagements.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Security Assurance and Risk Management.
• ISO 27001 and NIST CSF.
• Risk Assessments and Risk Treatment.
• Stakeholder Management and Communication.
• Security Governance and Compliance.
• Knowledge of GDPR and related legislation.

Desirable

• Azure and/or AWS knowledge.
• Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) and JSP440.
• Cyber Essentials, GovAssure or Threat Modelling experience.
• CISSP, CISM or CISA.
• Defence, Government or regulated-sector experience.
