Lead Automation Engineer

Role Summary

The Lead Automation Engineer position has been created due to Our Client’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and project innovation. This strategic role is integral to the successful execution of small to medium-sized investment projects, focusing on automation and electrical engineering. The successful candidate will lead impactful projects that contribute to the overall growth and efficiency of Our Client’s operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and electrical engineering aspects within investment projects, including new construction and renovation.
• Develop specifications for automation, process control, electrical engineering, and measurement technology.
• Oversee concept development, detailed planning, functional testing, and commissioning phases from design to operational stages.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with technical specifications.
• Make informed decisions regarding technical solutions, balancing innovation with economic considerations.
• Handle scheduling and cost control to ensure project objectives are met.
• Implement cutting-edge technical solutions to enhance the digitalisation of systems.
• Foster cross-departmental knowledge transfer and share best practices across teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Significant expertise in automation and electrical engineering, specifically within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency in PLT field device technology, hardware/software systems, and regulatory knowledge pertaining to electrical installations and safety.
• Experience with project control systems such as PCS7 and HIMA is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel for project support and ability to thrive in international, cross-location teams.
• Fluent in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Additional experience in digital transformation projects or innovative engineering solutions would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with international project management would enhance an application but is not mandatory.
