Role Overview
This key position has arisen due to the company’s ongoing growth and strategic initiatives to optimise production. As a Chemical Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining operational excellence on the production floor. Your expertise will ensure that manufacturing processes run seamlessly, enabling our client to meet demanding quality standards and customer expectations. This role offers a chance to work in a hands-on environment where your skills directly impact the success of complex materials production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee production machinery used in the manufacture of ceramic powders, such as spray towers, wind sifters, air jet mills, melting furnaces, arc furnaces, and high-temperature kilns.
  • Prepare and blend raw materials and additives accurately according to detailed recipe specifications.
  • Conduct analyses and measurements essential for process control, ensuring products meet stringent quality criteria.
  • Document and execute production orders meticulously within your designated operational area.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Adhere to all legal regulations and health and safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A recognised qualification as a chemical technician or similar technical background.
  • Proven experience working with ceramic processing equipment and materials such as oxides and carbides.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control methods.
  • Excellent organisation skills and a responsible approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently under pressure.
  • Fluent German language skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with database systems.

Desirable Attributes

  • Prior experience working in a high-temperature facilities environment or with advanced materials.
  • Knowledge of modern process automation and control systems.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and process optimisation.
