We are currently seeking a dedicated Mechanical Assembly Engineer to join our client’s innovative aerospace team. This is a contract opportunity ideal for professionals with a solid background in opto-mechanical assembly and bonding activities, particularly those with experience in high-precision, complex environments such as the space, defence, aerospace, or related sectors.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare, clean, and assemble components to detailed specifications and industry standards, carrying out mechanical integration of sub-assemblies, instruments, and systems from technical drawings.
– Perform bonding operations using materials, maintaining thorough documentation throughout to ensure full traceability.
– Work closely with IVVQ managers to map out integration steps, agree timelines, and maintain procedural compliance, while supporting design and technology teams in reviewing hardware for integration efficiency.
– Assist during test campaigns with hardware handling and mechanical processes, and participate in incoming inspections of components and assemblies as required.
– Pack and prepare hardware securely for storage or transportation in line with safety and compliance requirements.
– Manufacture mechanical components through workshop machining – drilling and milling to design drawings- with prior manufacturing experience considered an advantage.
