Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject, or equivalent industry experience
  • Alternatively, HNC/HND qualified with at least 3 years’ relevant mechanical design experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical component design, housing/enclosure design, CAD tools, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing-ready drawings
  • Experience with some or all of the following: thermal, dynamic, and structural analysis/simulation
  • Comfortable taking designs from concept through to build
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce detailed technical documentation

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with PCB layout
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems
