A Mechanical Engineer is required for a global engineering business specialising in advanced vacuum and abatement systems for the semiconductor industry. Their technology supports complex manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance.

This is a key role delivering best‑practice mechanical engineering for semiconductor manufacturing equipment within a growing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver best‑practice mechanical design for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and subsystems.
• Support mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects.
• Promote design‑for‑X principles (manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability).
• Create and manage work packages across cross‑functional teams.
• Ensure designs meet safety, compliance, cost, quality, and performance targets.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (minimum Bachelors, essential).
• Experience in mechanical design of industrial equipment or machinery (essential).
• Experience of design‑for‑X principles (manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability – essential).
• Preparedness to undertake professional development and training (essential).
• Experience in a regulated, compliance‑driven industry (e.g. semiconductor manufacturing equipment – desirable).
