Mobile App Developer – Working Student / Intern

iO Associates are supporting an innovative organisation on a mission to transform modern agriculture by reducing reliance on herbicides. They design and deploy autonomous field‑robotics systems capable of identifying crops, detecting weeds using computer vision, and removing them mechanically, all without chemicals. The team brings together specialists in software, electronics, mechanical engineering, and product design, working closely with farmers to deliver real‑world impact.

Location: Munich Area
Contract Length: 6-9 Months
Employment Type: Working Student/Internship
Rate: Up to €18 Per Hour
Start Date: 1st February 2026

Day to Day:

  • A fast‑moving startup environment with real ownership and influence
  • Hands‑on experience with robotic platforms used in agricultural settings
  • A varied role spanning app development, UI/UX improvements, and field‑focused support
  • Travel opportunities to farms across Europe

  • Develop mobile applications used to control and monitor field‑robotic systems
  • Improve and extend the user interface based on real user feedback
  • Provide second‑level support for deployed systems (primarily remote, with occasional on‑site visits)

Your Profile:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree in computer science, media informatics, software engineering, or a related field
  • Confident using the Linux command line (Debian/Ubuntu)
  • Experience with Flutter and Dart
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Class B driving licence (additional licences for agricultural machinery are a bonus)
  • Experience with ROS (ROS 1 or ROS 2)
  • Basic electronics knowledge or hardware debugging experience
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and WebSocket communication
  • Interest in agriculture, machinery, or field robotics
