The Role

We are looking for 1–3 experienced Digital Modellers who can work with a high degree of autonomy and contribute quickly to the development of analytical and modelling solutions.

You will be involved in areas such as:

  • Developing logistics and logistical flow models
  • Building cost models
  • Developing stock and flow models
  • Creating event-based / discrete-event logistical models
  • Applying quantitative analysis and data science to complex logistics problems
  • Translating real-world operational challenges into robust computational models
  • Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate modelling outputs

Essential Experience

  • Current SC Clearance – essential
  • Proven experience in programming and quantitative modelling
  • Strong background in data science, operationalanalysis or a closely related discipline
  • Experience developing one or more of:
    • Logistics models
    • Cost models
    • Stock and flow models
    • Logistical flow / event-based models
  • Ability to work independently and make an immediate contribution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Python experience is currently used within the project, but the programming language is not prescriptive. Candidates with strong modelling experience in other languages are encouraged to apply.

Contract & Location

  • Initial contract: From next week through to December
  • Location: Predominantly remote
  • Some travel to customer sites may be required
  • Potential customer locations include Reading, Preston and Warton
  • Flexibility on location is available for the right candidate

If you are an experienced Digital Modeller with a background in logistics, operational analysis, data science or quantitative modelling, and are looking for an opportunity to work on a complex defence-related programme, we would be keen to hear from you.
