Network Engineer (Juniper) – Outside IR35
We’re looking for an experienced Juniper Network Engineer to provide 2nd/3rd-line support within secure production environments. This role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and improving Juniper-based routing and switching infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance within a DV-cleared setting.
Role Details:
- Daily rate: £500-£550 per day
- IR35 status: Outside IR35
- Location: Aldermaston
- Clearance: Active DV required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd/3rd-line support for Juniper networking environments (routing and switching)
- Diagnose and resolve network incidents, performance issues, and configuration faults across production environments
- Implement and support configuration changes, upgrades, and patching of Junos OS in line with change-control processes
- Support business-as-usual (BAU) network operations
- Collaborate with vendors, including Juniper Networks TAC, to escalate and manage complex technical issues through to resolution
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards
- Participate in on-call support rotations and provide incident response within agreed SLAs
- Work with project teams to support network deployments, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Juniper routing and switching platforms
- Deep knowledge of Junos OS configuration and troubleshooting
- Proven background in 2nd/3rd-line network support within secure or highly regulated environments
- Experience working within structured change-control frameworks
- Strong incident management and root cause analysis capability
- Active DV clearance (essential)
