Operational Planner – Shipbuilding / Production (m/f/d)
Wilhelmshaven, Germany | Hybrid | Fixed-term to December 2028

We’re supporting a leading German shipyard in hiring an Operational Planner to support detailed production planning across shipbuilding and refit programmes.

This role focuses on shop floor-level planning and coordination, ensuring smooth execution across fabrication, assembly, and outfitting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate manufacturing, pre-fabrication, and assembly processes within shipbuilding operations
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Work plans
    • Production schedules
    • Resource and capacity overviews
      (at assembly group or section level)
  • Manage capacity and material requirements in close collaboration with:
    • Warehouse and logistics
    • Procurement
    • Production teams
  • Track schedules and monitor progress across production stages (e.g. steel construction, piping, outfitting)
  • Coordinate work orders between internal departments and external service providers
  • Support the continuous optimisation of production workflows and logistics processes

Requirements

  • Technical qualification (Technician/Master level) or a degree in:
    • Shipbuilding / Naval Architecture
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Production Engineering
  • Initial experience in:
    • Operational planning, or
    • Production control
  • Ideally gained within:
    • Shipbuilding
    • Steel construction
    • Plant or industrial engineering
  • Good understanding of production processes, particularly:
    • Pre-fabrication
    • Assembly
    • Final outfitting
  • Experience with planning tools (e.g. MS Project)
  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
