Role Summary:
This is a strategic hire driven by the expansion of our Client’s advanced electronics capabilities. The PCB Designer will play a vital role in enhancing product reliability and performance through expert circuit layout and routing, particularly in power electronics for aerospace applications. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for power electronic modules used in aerospace systems.
- Collaborate closely with circuit designers to ensure optimal placement and routing of components.
- Handle component placement, wiring, and routing to meet electrical, EMC, signal integrity, and thermal requirements.
- Maintain and update the internal component library to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Review and control PCB layouts for manufacturability and performance standards.
- Prepare procurement specifications and create manufacturing data files for production.
- Ensure layouts comply with installation space constraints and industry standards.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Several years of practical experience in PCB layout and routing, particularly in power electronics or aerospace environments.
- Relevant technical qualification, such as a degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering or electronics.
- Proven track record in designing PCBs beyond simple SND or THD assembly, with specific experience in placing magnetics.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and thermal design principles, EMC considerations, and signal integrity.
- Competence in managing PCB libraries and creating technical documentation.
- Ability to work closely within a team and communicate effectively across disciplines.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience with designing PCBs for highly regulated industries or aerospace applications.
- Knowledge of industry standards related to aerospace electrical systems.
- Familiarity with advanced PCB design tools and simulation software.
- Experience in managing multiple design projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
