Performance Engineer
Location: Houston, Texas (On-Site)

Position Summary

The Performance Engineer supports both sales and engineering functions through rigorous data analysis, product evaluation, and development of technical sales materials. This role focuses on identifying performance trends, optimizing product outcomes, and collaborating cross-functionally with sales, operations, repair, manufacturing, and design teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong understanding of assigned applications and communicate how operational nuances affect drilling dynamics

  • Produce technical sales materials for internal and external stakeholders

  • Support account managers by identifying relevant offsets and utilizing internal software tools

  • Analyze drilling performance data to identify product improvement opportunities

  • Provide technical guidance to customers regarding product specifications and best practices; deliver training when required

  • Gather customer requirements and operational insights to support tailored product recommendations

  • Collaborate with design engineering to incorporate field feedback into product development

  • Support field trials by collecting, analyzing, and communicating performance data

  • Assist the sales team in identifying and tracking business opportunities


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and visualize technical data

  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple priorities

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • Confident communicator with both technical and commercial stakeholders

  • Willingness and ability to travel to rig sites as required

  • Programming experience (e.g., VBA, JSL, Python, R) is advantageous

  • Experience with visual analytics platforms (e.g., Spotfire, JMP, Tableau, Power BI) is beneficial


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Drilling industry experience preferred

  • Technical sales exposure preferred


Note: This role is based at our Client’s site in the designated work location, and some travel to client sites will be required.
