Exciting Opportunity: PA/QA Engineer (Contract)
Are you an experienced quality and assurance professional with a passion for aerospace technology? We are seeking a skilled PA/QA Engineer to join our client’s innovative team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a bespoke product assurance and quality strategy aligned with aerospace standards.
  • Lead reliability analysis activities, including FMEA/FMECA, derating, and other quantitative studies to substantiate reliability claims.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and mechanical teams, advising on design choices and mitigation approaches to enhance product robustness.
  • Oversee production process audits, ensuring workmanship standards meet stringent aerospace criteria.
  • Manage parts quality assurance, including component screening, derating, and parts list management.
  • Maintain configuration baselines and oversee change control processes across project phases.
  • Support environmental testing programmes by defining criteria and witnessing critical test activities.
  • Represent our client’s quality posture during customer meetings, audits, and industry reviews.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in space-related PA/QA roles, with a strong foundation in engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering.
  • Practical knowledge of reliability techniques including FMEA/FMECA, FIDES, and derating analysis.
  • Familiarity with ECSS standards (ECSS-Q-ST-10, ECSS-Q-ST-60, ECSS-M-ST-40C) and best practices for EEE component management.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering reliability evidence for flight hardware.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams to develop practical, high-quality solutions.
  • Confidence in engaging with external clients, agencies, and contractors during reviews and audits.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.

Desirable Extras

  • Experience with environmental testing procedures and criteria.
  • Background in spacecraft hardware integration and testing.
  • Previous exposure to international standards outside ECSS may be beneficial.
