Product Assurance Engineer
A high-growth aerospace/space engineering manufacturer is looking to hire a Product Assurance Engineer to strengthen their Quality/Product Assurance function. This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of high-reliability hardware into a highly regulated environment, working closely with engineering, manufacturing/test, suppliers and customers.
The role
You’ll help ensure product assurance and quality compliance across the full lifecycle, from requirements flow-down and documentation, through build/test surveillance, to final data pack delivery. You’ll be part of integrated project teams and will have visibility across multiple programmes as demand increases.
Key responsibilities
- Support and attend programme lifecycle reviews (e.g., MRR/TRR/DRB and other customer/supplier milestone reviews)
- Maintain and develop product assurance documentation aligned to contract and relevant standards (including ECSS where applicable)
- Flow down assurance requirements to suppliers and review evidence of compliance (supplier documentation/data packs)
- Monitor hardware during manufacturing and test to ensure adherence to technical and quality requirements
- Support End Item Data Packs (EIDP), review item discrepancies (RIDs) and closure actions
- Support non-conformance management, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Participate in internal and supplier audits (AS9100/ISO9001) and continuous improvement activity
- Verify compliance to key/mandatory inspection points (KIPs/MIPs)
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- HND/Degree in Engineering/Physical Sciences (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience in Quality or Product Assurance within aerospace/space/defence or another regulated engineering environment
- Good working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO9001
- Confident interpreting engineering drawings/specifications and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and stakeholder communication skills
Desirable:
- ECSS exposure (and awareness of EEE parts/materials/process considerations)
- Experience compiling/reviewing EIDPs, qualification/verification activity
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving tools (8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, etc.)
- Electronics/electromechanical experience
- Quality/auditing qualification (e.g., ISO9001 Lead Auditor)
Working pattern / environment
Primarily site-based in Buckinghamshire. Some flexibility may be needed for peak project periods, with occasional travel to suppliers/customers.
