Job Opening: Production Planner (Contract to Permanent)

Location: Guildford, Surrey, UK (Fully onsite during the initial contract period, with hybrid working available upon successful transition to a permanent role).

Salary: Up to £27 per hour PAYE (DOE) during the contract period, with a permanent salary of up to £45,000 per annum.

Role Summary:

This position has arisen as part of the company’s strategic expansion to meet increasing production demands for their advanced satellite products. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimising manufacturing processes and ensuring precise scheduling to facilitate seamless project delivery. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed production plans aligned with project timelines and stock requirements.
  • Manage and track production schedules, ensuring efficient workflow across manufacturing teams.
  • Utilise ERP systems (preferably SAP or SAP S/4HANA) to monitor progress, resource allocation, and workflow status.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project management, engineering, and supply chain to meet delivery targets.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, optimise material utilisation, and minimise waste.
  • Analyse production data to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Monitor production costs and collaborate on cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on schedule adherence, KPIs, and process performance.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Production Planner in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems, with hands-on experience using SAP or SAP S/4HANA.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple schedules effectively.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing techniques, processes, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Background in electronics manufacturing or aerospace-related industries.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and techniques.
