Space Systems & Satellite Electronics

Location: Germany (Hybrid)

Industry: Space, Satellite Systems, Avionics, Embedded Electronics

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

We’re supporting an innovative European space technology organisation delivering mission-critical electronics, computing platforms, and embedded systems for some of the most ambitious satellite and exploration programmes currently in development.

Their technologies support a range of scientific, Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, and deep-space missions, working alongside leading European space agencies and commercial operators.

As part of continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex space engineering programmes from initial customer engagement through to final delivery.

The Role

You will take ownership of technically challenging projects involving satellite electronics, onboard computing systems, FPGA/software development, and mission-critical hardware solutions.

Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will coordinate project execution, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure successful delivery against technical, schedule, quality, and budget objectives.

This is a highly visible position with significant customer interaction and the opportunity to contribute to flagship European space programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery of complex space and satellite engineering projects

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and reporting activities

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across hardware, software, FPGA, systems engineering, and verification disciplines

  • Act as the primary interface between customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

  • Support proposal and bid activities during project initiation phases

  • Drive project execution to ensure delivery against contractual, technical, quality, and commercial requirements

  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies where required

  • Work closely with technical leadership to align engineering activities with programme objectives

  • Provide regular progress updates to customers and senior management

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline

  • Proven project management experience within the space, aerospace, satellite, defence, or high-reliability electronics sectors

  • Experience delivering technically complex engineering programmes involving multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management

  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills

  • Ability to operate effectively in international project environments

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Professional-level English communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within satellite systems, avionics, onboard computers, payload electronics, FPGA development, or embedded systems

  • Familiarity with ESA, ECSS, or other aerospace development standards

  • German language skills are beneficial but not essential

Why Apply?

  • Join a growing European space technology organisation with long-term programme visibility

  • Work on cutting-edge satellite and exploration missions

  • Collaborate with internationally recognised engineering teams

  • Influence projects that contribute directly to future space infrastructure and scientific discovery

  • Excellent opportunities for professional growth and technical exposure
