R&D Engineering Lead - Embedded Communications

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end R&D initiatives focusing on embedded systems and communication technology, from initial concept through to final implementation, including defining project scope, requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
• Manage Proof of Concept (PoC) setups by coordinating hardware and software components, overseeing schedules, and leading collaborative efforts with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide technical guidance to software and hardware development teams during system design, integration, testing, and validation phases.
• Foster collaborative relationships with research institutes, industry partners, and clients to accelerate innovation and ensure project success.
• Drive advancements in emerging areas such as 5G/6G, NTN, and next-generation communication protocols.

Your profile

• Holder of a Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical, Computer, or Communication Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Over five years’ experience in R&D or product development related to embedded systems and telecommunications devices, with proven leadership in managing technical teams or projects.
• Proficient in embedded programming languages including C and C++, with hands-on experience using RTOS, Linux, and communication protocols like Ethernet, TCP/IP, along with 5G/6G standards.
• Familiarity with FPGA, DSP, or SoC architectures; exposure to AI-driven telecom applications is advantageous.
• Strong leadership qualities complemented by excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of collaborating across multidisciplinary, global teams.
• Fluency in English; basic knowledge of German is desirable.
