SAP S/4HANA Integration Consultant / Technical SME

We’re supporting a UK software vendor that has developed a new SAP S/4HANA connector within its integration and automation platform. The product is now entering an advanced testing and refinement phase, and we’re looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA technical specialist to act as a trusted advisor to the development team.

This is not a traditional hands-on ABAP development role. Instead, you’ll help validate how the platform interacts with S/4HANA, troubleshoot API behaviour, advise on SAP best practice, and help identify whether issues originate from SAP configuration, business rules, or the connector itself.

The platform integrates with S/4HANA via OData and REST APIs and supports common business processes such as Business Partners, Sales Orders, Products, Inventory and Invoicing.

Responsibilities:

• Advise development teams on SAP S/4HANA API behaviour and best practice
• Validate and troubleshoot OData and REST API interactions
• Support testing and refinement of a new S/4HANA connector
• Help identify SAP-side configuration or process-related issues
• Provide guidance around S/4HANA business objects and transactional processes
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the SAP integration capability

Required Experience:

• Strong SAP S/4HANA technical experience
• OData V2/V4 and REST API expertise
• SAP integration experience
• Understanding of Business Partner, Sales Order, Product, Inventory and Invoice processes
• Ability to troubleshoot complex SAP integration issues
• Strong communication and consultancy skills

Desirable:

• SAP Integration Suite / CPI
• SAP BTP
• SAP Gateway
• API Management
• Technical Architecture experience

Engagement Details:

• Fully remote
• Initial requirement expected to be 1-3 days per week
• Flexible ad-hoc engagement
• Potential for long-term involvement as the product and customer base grow

This role would suit an SAP Integration Consultant, SAP Technical Architect, SAP Integration Suite Consultant, or a senior S/4HANA technical specialist with strong API and integration expertise looking for flexible project-based work.
