Satcom – Product Manager (Sweden, Hybrid/Remote)

Organisation Overview

Our Client is a Swedish high-technology business specialising in advanced SATCOM terminals and antenna systems designed for multi-orbit connectivity, supporting GEO, MEO and LEO applications. Its portfolio includes compact, high-performance solutions used by defence, government and commercial customers worldwide, with a strong focus on certification readiness and real-world operational performance.

This is a company with momentum: as it moves into a new growth phase, you’ll help scale production capability while expanding its reach across key global markets. You’ll join a team of engineers and commercial leaders who value innovation, accountability and practical problem-solving.

Role Summary

Our Client is seeking a Product Manager to accelerate its next stage of commercial growth. This is a strategically important role that blends product leadership with customer-facing market development.
You will translate market and customer needs into a clear product roadmap, while also actively uncovering and building new opportunities across the SATCOM ecosystem, connecting with operators, integrators and defence/government stakeholders to shape what comes next.

Responsibilities

As Product Manager, you will be accountable for end-to-end product direction and growth activities, including:

  • Define and own the product vision, roadmap and lifecycle for SATCOM terminal and related solutions (including Ku/Ka and compact terminal platforms, plus supporting technologies)
  • Translate customer requirements and market trends into actionable product specifications, working closely with engineering teams
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market assessments to position the portfolio effectively
  • Contribute to bids, RFIs/RFPs and other commercial responses for both commercial and government-led programmes
  • Support pricing strategy, product positioning and go-to-market planning
  • Act as a technical-commercial interface during key customer discussions, demonstrations and certification-related activities
  • Work alongside sales, engineering and production to align delivery realities with market expectations
  • Use sector relationships to identify, pursue and secure opportunities with commercial, government and defence clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with satellite operators, service providers, system integrators and relevant procurement stakeholders
  • Represent Our Client at major industry and defence events to strengthen pipeline and partnerships

Essential Skills & Experience

To be considered, you will demonstrate most of the following:

  • 8+ years’ experience across product management and/or business development roles within SATCOM, aerospace, or defence communications
  • Proven relationship strength across the SATCOM ecosystem (e.g., operators, integrators, defence primes and government stakeholders)
  • Strong technical understanding of SATCOM systems, including terminals and the broader role of antennas, modems and multi-orbit networks (LEO/MEO/GEO)
  • Experience with military and/or government customer environments (for example NATO, MODs, or comparable government communications programmes)
  • Demonstrated track record of product-led growth, securing major contracts, or building valuable partnerships
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present both technical and commercial messages clearly
  • A relevant engineering or telecommunications degree (or equivalent experience); an MBA would be beneficial
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required

Desirable Skills & Experience

These are not essential, but would strengthen your application:

  • Experience supporting product strategy for Ku/Ka terminal families or comparable SATCOM hardware portfolios
  • Familiarity with certification processes and customer acceptance programmes in the SATCOM domain
  • Experience writing and shaping proposals specifically for government procurement cycles
  • Prior exposure to defence-focused systems integration and programme delivery environments
