Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of satellite component assembly, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems comply with design specifications.
  • Managing the integration of various spacecraft subsystems, including payloads, propulsion, and communication modules, to ensure cohesive operation.
  • Developing and executing comprehensive testing programmes-covering functional, environmental, thermal, vibration, and mechanical assessments-to verify satellite performance.
  • Creating detailed test plans and verification processes across different development stages, from subsystem validation to full spacecraft testing.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving integration and testing issues through careful analysis and systematic problem-solving.
  • Maintaining meticulous documentation of assembly, testing procedures, results, and deviations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and lessons learned.
  • Upholding rigorous quality assurance standards throughout the AIT (Assembly, Integration, & Test) phases to guarantee readiness prior to launch.
  • Supporting spacecraft operations and parameters acceptance, contributing to mission success and service delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree (MEng, MSc, or PhD) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on satellite systems or space technology.
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience in satellite assembly, integration, and testing within the aerospace industry, including hands-on work with spacecraft components.
  • Deep understanding of satellite project lifecycles and programme management.
  • Proven experience conducting environmental tests such as thermal cycling, vibration, and mechanical checks, with familiarity with relevant testing equipment.
  • Skills in using CAD software for mechanical design integration, electrical testing tools, and automation in testing protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles within regulated aerospace environments.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in clean room settings, operating specialised testing and assembly equipment.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with environmental chambers, vibration tables, and spacecraft test automation.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems and testing software tools.
  • Knowledge of space industry standards and compliance protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt quickly to evolving project needs.
