Satellite Architect

iO Associates are currently partnered with a leading organisation within the space and satellite sector, supporting the search for a Satellite Architect to join their growing engineering function based in Toulouse. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge space programmes across Earth observation and telecommunications, contributing to complex and high-impact missions.

Work Environment: Hybrid
Salary: €80,000 – €85,000 per annum + additional benefits

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as Technical Lead / Satellite Manager across assigned programmes
  • Designing and developing end-to-end satellite system architectures aligned to technical and programme requirements
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust, integrated solutions
  • Coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders including partners, suppliers and clients
  • Leading the technical integration and ensuring alignment across all contributing functions
  • Acting as the primary interface with customers and partners, translating requirements into deliverable solutions
  • Managing trade-offs between performance, cost and schedule constraints
  • Supporting project management activities including planning, cost tracking and delivery milestones

What You Bring

  • 10+ years experience in satellite systems or subsystem development
  • Strong background across at least two subsystem domains (e.g. avionics, AOCS/GNC, or similar)
  • Proven experience in system-level architecture and technical leadership
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)
