Overview
We’re looking for an SC-cleared Network Engineer to support a major UK defence programme delivered by QinetiQ. You’ll join a team providing operational network engineering across a secure environment, with a strong focus on OpNet activity on Trinity.
This is a hands-on Contract Network Engineering role—ideal for someone who’s comfortable working on-site, following controlled change, and supporting business-critical infrastructure in a high-assurance setting.Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day network engineering support across a secure estate.
- Deliver OpNet engineering activities on Trinity (support, fixes, implementation, and troubleshooting).
- Support incident resolution, problem investigation, and root-cause analysis across network services.
- Carry out planned changes, upgrades, and network improvements within a controlled environment.
- Work closely with service delivery, project teams, and technical stakeholders to maintain availability and performance.
- Produce/update technical documentation (as-builts, implementation plans, handover notes, etc.).
Essential Skills / Experience
- Proven Network Engineer experience in secure / enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting operational networks (BAU + change).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across routed/switching environments.
- Comfortable working in structured change control processes and security-led environments.
- Active SC clearance (must be in place to start).
- Able to work on-site in Corsham.
Desirable
- Prior experience on OpNet and/or within defence/government programmes.
- Familiarity with “Trinity” environments and associated tooling/process.
- Experience supporting large-scale service delivery in multi-team environments.
Working Pattern
- On-site (Corsham) – expectation is site-based delivery due to the secure nature of the environment.
