Overview

We are looking for a hands-on network engineer/administrator to configure, secure, and manage a secure edge networking capability across field and lab environments. The role requires strong practical experience with CradlePoint R1900, NetCloud Manager, firewall policy, VLAN design, and remote fleet operations in security-conscious environments.

Responsibilities (key tasks)

1. Configure and maintain CradlePoint R1900 (WAN failover, LTE/5G profiles, routing, DHCP/DNS as required).
2. Administer NetCloud Manager (device groups, templates, firmware management, alerts, reporting).
3. Build and maintain firewall policies (inbound/outbound rules, NAT, segmentation, least-privilege).
4. Design and implement VLAN segmentation for multi-tenant / multi-mission deployments.
5. Configure and validate switch management (port profiles, trunking, STP, PoE where applicable).
6. Implement secure remote access patterns (approved jump host/VPN methods, credential management, audit trails).
7. Establish monitoring and logging (SNMP/syslog/telemetry) and perform initial incident triage.
8. Produce and maintain network diagrams (logical/physical), IP plans, and configuration baselines.
9. Own configuration control: backups, golden configs, change records, rollback plans.
10. Support air-gapped / disconnected operations (local admin workflows, offline updates, removable media controls).
11. Validate network performance for edge compute workloads (latency, throughput, jitter) and document results.
12. Support acceptance activities: FAT/SAT checklists, evidence packs, handover training.

• Proven experience supporting secure networking in restricted/regulated environments
• Strong operational discipline: documentation, change control, repeatable builds
• Confident working hands-on with edge routers, switching, segmentation, and remote fleet tooling
