Senior Databricks Solutions Architect | Contract

A global organisation is investing heavily in a complex, high-performance data platform, and they need a hands-on Databricks Solutions Architect to help take it to the next level.

This is a delivery-focused role. You’ll be designing and optimising Spark workloads, building production-grade streaming pipelines, and shaping scalable Databricks solutions that sit at the core of the business. You’ll have real ownership, working autonomously in a fast-moving environment alongside strong engineering teams.

What you’ll be working with
Databricks (Delta Live Tables, Workflows, Unity Catalog), Apache Spark, Python, PySpark, Terraform, Databricks Asset Bundles, GitHub Actions

What you’ll bring

• Advanced Apache Spark and Spark SQL optimisation experience
• Proven production Spark Structured Streaming delivery
• Deep Databricks platform expertise
• Strong Python and PySpark engineering skills
• Hands-on experience with Delta Live Tables, Workflows and Unity Catalog
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform and Databricks Asset Bundles
• CI/CD experience, ideally with GitHub Actions
• The confidence to operate independently and drive outcomes without heavy oversight

Nice to have
Databricks Apps, Lakebase, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, monitoring and observability platforms, or financial services experience
