About the Role
We’re supporting a leading engineering organisation that’s looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Sustaining to join its Sustaining Engineering team.
The role focuses on supporting in-service semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with responsibility for improving product reliability, maintainability and long-term value. You’ll work on areas including obsolescence, dual sourcing, design upgrades and resolving strategic field issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical modules and sub-assemblies for new and existing products
- Verify designs through calculation and testing against relevant standards
- Deliver designs to agreed quality, cost and timescales
- Support design-for-service, manufacturing and assembly requirements
- Develop solutions for obsolescence, dual sourcing and product upgrades
- Re-engineer products to resolve systemic or strategic field issues
- Maintain detailed design documentation including drawings, models, BOMs and test data
- Work closely with service, manufacturing, suppliers, projects and customers
Required Experience
- Electrically biased engineering degree or relevant engineering qualification with industry experience
- Experience with product development and engineering design
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Experience with engineering materials and manufacturing methods
- 2D and 3D CAD experience
- Understanding of P&IDs and system schematics
- Strong ability to deliver against project milestones and tight deadlines
- Good communication skills, with the ability to report technical information clearly
Nice to Have
- Product introduction / New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
- Experience with CATIA, AutoCAD, Visio or similar CAD/drafting tools
- Experience working with semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- Sustaining engineering or legacy product experience
You’ll work on sophisticated semiconductor manufacturing equipment, tackling real engineering challenges around product performance, reliability, obsolescence and maintainability while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the product lifecycle.
